May has been a very busy month for me.

Being a very Kiasu 1st timer to watch a LIVE concert, I took the trouble of getting my father to trill me to Bukit Jalil stadium to park my car at Zon B around 4pm and headed home to rest and get ready for the big night. We then went dinner together with my family and dad dropped us at Bukit Jalil.

We walked to the main entrance and found out entrance for RM318 and above tickets is at the other end. We then had to walked towards another entrance which is a good 5-10 minutes walk. By the time we reach the entrance, we were already sweaty. I was praying so hard that it would not rain that night cos there were thick clouds since 6pm and by 8pm thick clouds are still visible. Anyway, it did not rain throughout the night... yay... PRAISE THE LORD!!! Rain only came pouring at 12am! Lucky lucky us...!

The entrance check point was so strict. The security checked every bag that goes into the stadium. Items like camera, video camera, water bottle and food is strictly not allowed into the stadium. Of course we have our ways to hide our cameras... keke...! Phew lucky they did not manage to find my camera.

While walking into the stadium, workers were giving out FOC items like Fan, Giant hands to say "HI!" to Lee Hom, and Ang Pao envelope with a RM1 note and a RM20 voucher to Boston Restaurant inside.

Me at 8.25pm with my biggie hand to wave "HI!" to Lee Hom
As I got to my seat, i regretted not spending the extra ringgits to get myself a better seat. Did not expect to be that far from stage. Sigh... now i know!

Below: View from my seat...

The show kicked off with Daniel Lee and Kay Guo as guest performers at 8.30pm sharp. At 8.45pm... MUSIC-MAN begins with all the lights shut off. The band started playing and all fans started yelling like crazy...! Then spotlight was all on Lee Hom's most talkabout Bahamut Electric Guitar... then comes Lee Hom...!

Below: Lee Hom's featured Bahamut Electric Guitar (pic blurry cos cant on flash and its illegal to snap pics anyway... keke)

Below: A clearer view of the Bahamut... still i am very far and had to maximize my Camera's zoom.

Something that I didn't like what the organizers did was seating people so so far away... look at the crowd... pity them that they cant even see the screen. Even Lee Hom seems surprise how the seats were arranged so high up. Dear organizers, probably u can earn a little lesser and not place seats so high up so that everybody can have a better view of the stage... I think from their view the screen is only 1cm big or maybe lesser...!

Below: 20,000 audiences in Stadium Bukit Jalil that night... stadium was FULL!!!

Below: Lee Hom steps out with his another electric guitar...

Below: Lee Hom on screen

There was 2 unforgetable moments during the concert. One was when Lee Hom turn out to be Xiao Hong in RED, Xiao Huang in Yellow, Xiao Li in Blue and MUSIC-MAN Lee Hom in WHITE. Tat was a surprise!!! Everyone were looking at the screen wondering how come there are 4 Lee Homs on stage... maybe not all just me being very amazed. Anyway, my senses came later that it was a pre-recorded stage performance... Sigh... got fooled!

Another moment is when Lee Hom did a magic trick on his fans. He suddenly appeared in the middle of the stadium... next to where i was sitting. Just few seconds he was on the stage and "poof" his standing next to where I am sitting! The security stopped me from taking pics by covering my camera with a few other people with their hands. Sien...!

Concert ended with extra 3 songs and last song was "Kiss Goodbye..." Awww.... We all stood on our chairs during the last 3 songs and security wanted to pull the crowd to sit on their chair but lee hom asked that all of us remain standing and nobody can sit down before he finishes... LOL! Thank you Lee Hom! Finally can see you better standing!

Below: Good work on the stage and crowd standing to his last few number

Overall, Lee Hom's performance was very good... being the Music Man, he played 2 electric guitars, 1 violin, drum, keyboard, and of course his featured BAHAMUT! The visual effects, lighting, sound system, his band, his dancers were all perfectly coordinated.

Concert ended at 11.45pm and we were given free Marigold juice as we walk out of the stadium. A good 5 minutes walk to my car and within 5 minutes I was out of the parking and heading to the highway. Guess being kiasu helped me escape the jam. keke! BTW, parking only cost me RM2!

Thats all the pictures I have... blurry pics of Lee Hom while avoiding the securities. Sigh...

I love AZABU SABO Hokkaido Ice-cream @ Singapore

There are 3 Azabu Sabo outlets located at Marina Square, Takashimaya, and The Central in Singapore.

I fell in love with Azabu Sabo Hokkaido ice-cream ever since the 1st time I tasted it. Each ice-cream cone cost around SGD 4.50 but no regrets after trying them. Absolutely love it! They also have a wide range of unusual flavours too like Wasabi, Sweet Potato with Mango and Milk Tea. Their best sellers has to be Green Tea.

This pic is taken during my very 1st Azabu Sabo encounter at Marina Square. I ordered the Green Tea with Red Bean flavour and my friend Yeo ordered the Chocolate flavour ice-cream.

I like the tall sculture of the ice cream and the triangle ice-cream cone.

On a separate occasion, I accidentally bump into Azabu Sabo again at Takashimaya. According to the girls, it is a new branch and they are giving out 20% discount on ice-creams. I highly recommended Azabu Sabo to my family and we each chose a flavour.

Mom and hubby ordered Green Tea, Dad took Black Sesame, and Sis had Wasabi.

My parents enjoyed watching the girls sculturing our ice-creams.

I was the last to order. So we escaped from office at 12pm sharp. We arrived at the restaurant at 1pm. We got a little lost as we took a big U turn just to turn into Jalan Lima. This restaurant is located under a big tree shade next to some workshop. Sorry guys... totally forgot to take down names.

We were told the famous restaurant that serves excellent steamed fish head has shifted from Jalan Tiga to Jalan Lima. So when we arrived at Jalan Lima, we stopped at a wrong restaurant but was told that the famous fish head is further up the road. People only stop by this restaurant because they can't wait.

Anyway, knowing we stop at the wrong restaurant, that didn bother us. Cos the food didn taste bad and to be honest it was really good and so cheap! We ordered steamed tofu, 2 steamed fish head (1 with ginger paste and 1 with taucu sauce paste), and spinach with century eggs in chicken broth.

We started our meal with a FOC soup of the day which is Vege soup. Then comes our steamed tofu along with our 2 main dishes which is the fish heads and lastly our spinach.

To be honest, I do not like eating fish head. But was surprised that fish head actually comes along with half the body. So I was really happy. I think I prefer the ginger paste more than the taucu paste fish cos you can really taste the freshness of the fish. But my colleagues love the taucu paste more which brings a little kick of saltiness, sweetness and spiciness to the fish.

-Steamed Ginger Paste Fish Head-

-Steamed Taucu Paste Fish Head-

-Our steamed tofu-

Our meal only cost us RM52 for 5 pax (inclusive of our Chinese Tea). Not sure if anyone of you frequent use Vicks VapoRub (a product of Procter and Gamble) whenever down with nose blockage. I bet most of you may have come across or has applied the ointment before as it has been in the market for the pass 10 years.

Dunno about you guys, but I am not a big supporter of this ointment as it gives me rash whenever i apply it. I have probably applied once or twice during my childhood. My hubby till date still frequent use this ointment whenever he is down with cough, flu or sore throat.

In this article, it says that it is harmful to apply Vicks on a child below age of 2. Especially when it is applied directly under a child's nose. This is because a child's airway is narrower than adults, and after application of Vicks, there may be increase of mucus which may cause narrowing of a child's airways. It is also said that the ointment slows the action of the hair-like cilia in the throat that can carry mucus away.

In Singapore, doctors do not advise patients to use Vicks as it is not clinically proven to be effective. They said it may offer relief but do not reduce resistance in the nasal airway.

Whatever it is, if you love using Vapo Rub, be it adult or child, avoid applying direct under nasal airways. Procter and Gamble also mentioned that the correct way to apply this ointment is on body which means chest or probably neck area.

Warn your friends and family if they frequent this ointment.

Lee Hom's Music-Man concert, Bukit Jalil National Stadium @ 2/5/09

Yay! I have secured 3 tickets to Wang Lee Hom's Live in Malaysia concert. Don't get me wrong I am no fan of Lee Hom but I do have a strong interest to see pretty talented boys.

My manager is sooo... great. She purposely went to Mid Valley's Galaxy Ticketing counter to secure the seats for me. I was telling her the other day that I have never seen any real big concert my entire life. And she went "HUH? WHAT?!" So i told her to invite me if she ever come across any good concert since i need people to accompany me there.

When I was about to confirm my tickets, my hubby suddenly said he wants to come along too. Therefore, told my manager and she basically said my hubby can take her ticket as she only agreed to come along for the sake of accompanying me. Now that my hubby is coming, she thinks she don't have to be there and plus she has met Lee Hom 3 times in person. Felt a little pai sei to make her go get tickets and yet she is not going.

Anyway, my seats cost RM 318 (inclusive RM3 processing fees) and it came along with RM120 cash voucher for future Galaxy organized concerts in 2009. Done some calculation, our seats should be 40 rows from the stage (10 rows of VVIP and VIP, 20 rows of RM398 tickets, and 10 rows infront of me for my ticket range).

According to my manager, I am actually not entitled for the below limited edition ticket pocket but she friend friend with the ticketing girl to get them. LOL! The girl had to hide it under an envelope to pass it to her and told her to be quiet about it. Told my manager that I am gonna frame it up. keke!

If you could see the guitar held by Lee Hom, a friend told me it is a custom made guitar for Lee Hom from Ireland which cost USD 30,000. You can have this fresh from the oven, with some minced meat filling, or with some herbal-like soup.

What I have here is a version which i find most intesting. The soup version. This stall is situated at a residence area. If your not a local, i guess u may have problem finding this place. I got the road name this time. Its at Lorong Tiong Hua.

Upon walking in, you see some table and chairs and an old couple working non stop preparing kom piah and drinks.

Below: Preparing Kompiah while taking order.

Below: Preparation of Kompiah. My advise is eat them while they are still hot or freshly out of oven or else you'll end up eating hard rock bread! While ordering, you can choose to eat kompiah with or without filling which prices differently. So, what we ordered here is 3 pieces of Kompiah with filling (Pork slices). This cost us RM3.

The soup is slightly sweet and kinda hard to descibe if there is any herb present and it really goes well with Kompiah as its salty. The kompiah absorbs all the soup in it making it soft and juicy to bite on.

To go along with our kompiah, we had to have some icy cold drinks looking at the weather. What we have here is what the local call as Calup (Our KL version of melted ice-kacang... keke) and sour plum juice!

As I was busy capturing pictures of the auntie preparing kompiah, I had a quick chat with her. She then told me she has been doing this many many years. After awhile, she saw my interest in her food (cos I was busy snapping pictures of her and around her premise... hehe), she started promoting about her kompiah and how some Japanese and Taiwanese love her kompiah and featured them in some Japanese and Taiwanese newspaper. I was amazed and she leaded me to look behind where she was standing. She had some old newspaper clippings dated back in 1997. She is 1 proud auntie! Keke..!

Below: For those who don't read mandarin, it says something like 1 of a kind Kompiah
Below: Some local newspaper promoting FuChow delicacy.

Kam Puah Noodles (干盘面), Sibu, Sarawak

To any Siburian, the most talk about food gotta be the famous KAM PUA! A Sibu delicacy that all tourist would be brought to taste!

True enough when I first reach Sibu, I was directed to eat their "must try" noodles called "Kam Puah"! In mandarin... (干盘面). To me Kam Puah is just another WAN TAN Noodle dish. Just that its white in colour.

Below: Kam Puah with Pin Luit.

Unlike the peninsular Wan Tan Noodle where u mix the noodles in dark soy sauce, the white Kam Puah uses Pork Fat/Oil. Yes, very unhealthy indeed. But I heard more and more people are changing to vegetable oil now.

Below: A plate of dry "Pin Luit"

"Pin Luit" is actually the Look-a-like Wantan we have in KL. The only difference is, in KL our wantan comes with soup or fried and with mixture of prawn and pork filling and in Sibu, its strictly pork or for halal stalls... chicken. You may choose to order 1 bowl of soup wantan or dry wantan. The locals like to eat them with some sweet ketchup like sauce. A plate of pin luit comes in 20 pieces or more. Cost ranges from RM3-5 per serving depending on stalls.

When comes to ordering, you can choose to eat Kam Puah with thin pork slices or Pin Luit. Cost ranges RM2-4 per plate depending on stalls.

Here are few different versions of kam puah which i had in Sibu.

A special request from me, I actually ordered black kam puah with thin slices of pork... Wahahaa... (looks like our peninsular wan tan noodle right?) The good thing about ordering food in Sibu is that the stalls are willing to cater to your preference and not stick to the menu.

And my latest discovery. There is even Dry chicken curry Kam Puah now! The taste is rather sweet and not to my liking. I would prefer curry to taste aromatic and spicy. Probably the curry is cater to locals who can't really take spicy food. If you would want to try, you can have this in Lane 13 Seafood Kopitiam. Dont ask me the area. I am really lost in Sibu. The locals would have some ideas hopefully by just looking at the picture of this coffee shop.

Below: The boss preparing Curry Chicken Kam Puah

After having to explore the various version of Kam Puah... i'll advise that u stick to the original which tastes the best. I am showing off some of my collections. The pics are not exactly updated. These are taken end of last year (October 2007 to be exact).

I can see the looks in every one of ur face... Close ur mouth ok! keke!

I bought some boards and iron rods from IKEA in 2006 just to make a nice nice display for my collections. The baskets i used to put them in went overflow laying on the floor. Therefore, having a shelf was crucial! The good thing about this shelf is that it allows you to adjust how many rows you need. I currently have 4 layers and I could buy 2 more planks to add to my current rod making a 5th row for display. FYI, I noticed, i need a 5th row urgently! Wahaha! Another thing is... these planks are RM12.90 each and I need 2 planks per row. The Iron rods are also RM12.90 each and triangle iron support which sells at RM8.90 per pair. So all together i had 3 rods, 8 planks and 6 pairs of iron triangle support. Voila... total damage was only RM195.30. *** Wink Wink*** Good deal huh? keke!

Here are some of my collections... Gotta thank my family, some friends, and colleagues who helped me pile up my collections. There are actually more to these! Shall update again next year.

These are some of the World pigs I bought and some are gifts from friends... Gotta thank Mike for the Holland once! Sporty pigs i have. We have Baseball, Basketball, Football and Soccer. Cute rite? keke! and some Dinner table ware. The sleepy pig is a gift from Paul my colleague. It is actually Salt and Pepper dispenser (Pig for salt, bed for pepper) and i bought the blue ribbon pig fruit pickers.

Some smooching piggies, glass collections (Round once are from Beijing-self bought, and the making love piggies are from Bangkok Thanks to Paul! Not sure why i pick today as a day to start blogging. Not exactly free as i have tons of things to do in my to do list. A little regretful now...! Should have just flip through a fengshui calendar to find out if today is a good date! D*mn!

Crossing my fingers if i could keep up on maintaining this blog and keep the entries going! Even after creating this blog, i am still in a little denial that... "I am no blogger!" I guess i am doing this due to POPULAR DEMAND! Wkakaaka!

My friends and colleagues has often walked up to me saying i should start a blog posting up all my food pictures which would leave many saliva drooling. Yes, I am a big big foodie...! I have a big sweet tooth too...! So, please do come back often to check out my blog. Its not gonna be all food for sure...! Its gonna be ME, the big PIG lover!

Hoping that i could keep the entries going!
