Famous Chan Sow Lin, Steamed Fish Head

On a hot sunny afternoon, me and my colleagues decided to try out the famous Chan Sow Lin Steamed Fish Head. So we escaped from office at 12pm sharp. We arrived at the restaurant at 1pm. We got a little lost as we took a big U turn just to turn into Jalan Lima. This restaurant is located under a big tree shade next to some workshop. Sorry guys... totally forgot to take down names.

We were told the famous restaurant that serves excellent steamed fish head has shifted from Jalan Tiga to Jalan Lima. So when we arrived at Jalan Lima, we stopped at a wrong restaurant but was told that the famous fish head is further up the road. People only stop by this restaurant because they can't wait.

Anyway, knowing we stop at the wrong restaurant, that didn bother us. Cos the food didn taste bad and to be honest it was really good and so cheap! We ordered steamed tofu, 2 steamed fish head (1 with ginger paste and 1 with taucu sauce paste), and spinach with century eggs in chicken broth.

We started our meal with a FOC soup of the day which is Vege soup. Then comes our steamed tofu along with our 2 main dishes which is the fish heads and lastly our spinach.

To be honest, I do not like eating fish head. But was surprised that fish head actually comes along with half the body. So I was really happy. I think I prefer the ginger paste more than the taucu paste fish cos you can really taste the freshness of the fish. But my colleagues love the taucu paste more which brings a little kick of saltiness, sweetness and spiciness to the fish.

Our meal only cost us RM52 for 5 pax (inclusive of our Chinese Tea). SO SO CHEAP!

This lunch escape from office in PJ with the endless wrong turnings, traffic jams and going back office 1 hour late was definately worth it! Btw, if you can't stand the heat under a zinc rooftop and unhygiene food preparation, this is not the place for you. We had to share our food shewing off the flies while sitting next to a big drain and went out the place sweaty.
